Wacky Bible Stories 4

Most people who are even remotely familiar with the Bible have heard the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, but they may not be familiar with the WHOLE story.

  • According to the Bible, Lot (the hero of the story, and the only person God considered good enough to save from destruction) offers his "virgin" daughters to a mob of angry men to do with as they please.
  • The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah would've included a 3rd city if Lot and his family would've been able to reach the mountains a little faster.
  • Lot's wife was killed by God for the "sin" of looking the wrong direction.
  • Lot was "date-raped" by his daughters.
As you watch the video, remember: this is supposedly the book we're supposed to use to get our morals. Is Lot really a moral character? Is God? If God had the ability to arbitrarily turn people into salt, why did he bother sending fire and brimstone? Why not simply turn everyone into salt?

  1. hey, just stumbled across your website. i appreciate the time you are taking to ask tough and honest questions. i am a pastor at a church in Calgary Canada. our church of about 2000 people and a couple of others are working together on a series called "ask anything" (you can check us out at ask-anything.ca) i loved your youtube videos on tough questions for Christians and i was wondering if we could play some of your videos during this series. we will treat them with the respect that they deserve and will do our best to answer them honestly. would you be open to us using your videos?

  3. Hi.

Hope you don't mind. I just posted a link to your YouTube channel at the Atheist Nexus (Phoenix group); http://www.atheistnexus.org/group/phoenix and a pointer to this site.

PS: the challenge above (by timo) seems like fun. Hope you keep us posted on developments, I'd like to be a part of that discussion, or at least check on how they respond. If anything like the responses on the YT comments, they won't be very compelling.

    Peace,
    AcesLucky

  4. I really don't believe that there is gonna be any wacky story in Bible. If there is then for sure, it's matter of misunderstanding the proper way.
