Morals separate us from the animals...

According to common Christian dogma, humans are the only creatures God created with morals. Morality is supposedly proof that we were created in "God's image."

This video shows that altruistic behavior is not limited to the human species. This video was taken by a traffic camera, it shows a dog risking it's own life in order to rescue another dog that had been hit by a truck.

  1. I dont doubt the animals altruism, but Where's the doggie police and the doggie courtrooms? When the not-so-good dogs break laws, do the good ones seek to find Justice? Morality. Do dogs know it? Or do they live by instinct?

  2. Outside the context of human interaction (and human's projection!) does it make sense to say that a dog did something wrong? If a dog did nothing to help, is it morally to blaim for that?

  3. A dog does something courageuos and we are amazed, but a man tries to defend an unborn child and he is hated!
It seems to me that the difference is that a truck is not the threat to the child, but its mother, and a dog is not the hero, but a christian.
Somehow, I am "narrow minded" for wanting to do for a child precisely that for which this dog is praiseworthy.
maybe your dog can explain the moral arithmetic for me!
